The Digital Twin has given us insights around the positioning of our nozzles and into the drying process, but we were actually too late to see the real value in the development process. Because we can let our customers experience how their new machine will work, it inspires confidence and the Digital Twin also has a commercial value. An extra brand awareness.

Who is LVP Engineering & Constructions?

LVP Engineering & Constructions is a partner for tailor-made projects in bulk handling, machine construction, dust and air treatment and cleaning machines.

LVP was founded by my father in the 1980s and I took it over in the early 1990s and eventually my brother joined in 2002 and since 2006 we are both managing LVP Engineering & Constructions.

In the meantime, they have built up a team with engineers, mechanics, support, … and they install and maintain installations all over Europe.

LVP Cleantec

In 2005 they were asked by a large retailer to build an automated container washing machine and this was the first step towards serial machine production. The knowledge gained gave rise to the idea of building an automated cleaning station for food containers. This became the foundation of the LVP Cleantec division.

Because of their innovative ideas, they now have 3 patents to their name and were eligible for the prestigious European subsidy program EIC accelerator programme. They were selected from thousands of applications and after a long and rigorous selection procedure, they belonged to the elite group of companies that received the grant.

The decisive factor was that we make the washing process much more efficient, resulting in lower energy consumption and where we regenerate and recycle almost all the water. This subsidy has given us wings to come to a solution faster and we came into the crosshairs of several large retailers.

The Challenges

In the meantime, various challenges have come our way. But one that keeps coming back is the scarcity of good technical personnel with the right skills. That is why we rely on partners such as Vintecc to bring in specific knowledge and expertise.

Digital Twins

A Digital Twin offers added value throughout the entire life cycle of a product or machine. Building a Digital Twin requires expertise and a powerful software tool. For many companies, investing in this expertise and software is therefore expensive. That is why Vintecc offers “Digital Twins as a service”. In this way, the company can get started with Digital Twins in a fast and cost-efficient way with limited prior knowledge.

In the case of LVP Engineering & Constructions, it was important to visualize the track of the nozzles as well as the drying process. It is important that the containers are really completely clean and that the hard-to-reach surfaces are also certainly clean. Thanks to the Digital Twin, we found out that we had to change the position of some sprinklers.

It was a pity that we didn’t meet Vintecc until later in our development, as we haven’t yet been able to get the full value out of the Digital Twin during the development process.

The commercial value

The Digital Twin is not only used by LVP Engineering & Constructions for technical purposes, but also for commercial purposes.

Because we can let our customers experience how their new machine will work, it inspires confidence and the Digital Twin also has a commercial value. An extra brand awareness.

They therefore also use the Digital Twin as a sales and marketing tool. This way you create impactful virtual experiences for customers and it offers extra persuasiveness.

The Future

In recent years we have had to invest, professionalize and structure a lot in the field of after-sales and service. We organize everything under our own management, but we also rely on partners to carry out certain actions.

With LVP Engineering & Constructions we always want to improve, we want to remove the “weak” points from the machines and improve them. That is why we also invest in retrofits to improve the machines, even machines that have only been in the field for 2 years. This is how we challenge ourselves to achieve and maintain a customer satisfaction score of 5/5.

Our customers receive monthly reporting and we collect the necessary feedback to implement any optimisations. Here too, the Digital Twin can again play a role in validating the optimizations in a virtual world before implementing them at the customer.

In the meantime, we will also continue to focus on innovations such as vision and AI to perform certain inspections or the use of data to monitor our machines more efficiently.

The future already looks promising … and clean!
