“Our goal was to explore new possibilities in milk transport, vacuum control and cleaning” explains expert engineer Dirk Kraaij. “We needed a software workflow that would enable us to start building prototypes fast and test them early on in the design process. It was during the MathWorks conference that I first discussed the possibilities of model-based design for our goal with Vintecc“.
At the conference, Dirk started talking to Vintecc’s founders, Karel and Vincent. “I invited them over to our offices in Maassluis to discuss the issue. At Lely, we were already using Simulink®, but there was no direct path from simulation to code. Vintecc helped us set up a complete software workflow, starting with the selection of the right prototyping platform.
The intense collaboration over several months between Vintecc and Lely’s R&D team resulted in an open Simulink® architecture, a test setup and a logging framework. “Vintecc’s unique, independent approach allowed us to continue development in-house, which is an enormous plus,” adds Dirk. “Their input has allowed our team to boost our own capabilities to turn our ideas into prototypes and, eventually, products. I was greatly impressed by their hands-on approach and ability to track and solve problems.
