What is ROS?
The Robot Operating System (ROS) is an open source framework for robot software development.
Through a flexible middleware, many available ready to use drivers, libraries, tools and commonly used algorithms are provided by the ROS (industrial) community this makes prototyping of new robots or AGV’s much faster.
ROS2 is the second generation of ROS which is redesigned from the ground up with industrial use cases in mind. It also reduces the complexity of turning prototypes into production ready products and enjoys strong backing of large industrial partners such as: Amazon Robotics, Bosh, BMW,
Snelle prototyping
At Vintecc we have already used ROS2 to develop several prototypes and production robots. Its modularity en flexibility makes it easy to adapt to our customer’s needs.
If we pair ROS2 with our simulation platform, we can help you select the best sensors and algorithms for your robot even before a first physical prototype has been built.
Capture
When a prototype is built, our flexible and customizable data framework CAPTURE can help you to gain key insight into the performance and inner workings of your robot. Once taken into production, collected data can be used for continuous improvement, predictive maintenance and quality assurance.
